Description
Sharelet adds clean, simple social sharing buttons to your WordPress posts and pages for free. No tracking scripts, no external requests on page load, no subscriptions.
Most social share plugins load 100KB+ of JS and minimal CSS. Sharelet’s free plugin loads zero JS and minimal CSS with lightweight SVG icons from Bootstrap Icons. Only if you use the Copy Link button (premium add-on), it loads an extra 347 bytes of JS.
No jQuery, no bloat, no tracking scripts.

FAQ
-
Pinterest shares title (from page’s og:title meta tag) + description (from SEO plugins, excerpt, or trimmed content) with featured image. Facebook shares page title, description, and image from Open Graph meta tags. Twitter shares your post title (up to 280 chars). Bluesky and Threads share the post title with your username mention. Mastodon, Telegram, Reddit, and WhatsApp share the post title and link.
-
What’s enabled by default?
-
After activation, Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest buttons appear above and below your posts automatically. You can customize which buttons display and adjust button position in Settings Sharelet Social Share.
-
Is this plugin free?
-
Yes. Facebook, Twitter (X), Pinterest, Bluesky, Threads, Mastodon, Telegram, Reddit, and WhatsApp buttons are completely free and always will be. Copy Link, Email, Ask ChatGPT, and Ask Perplexity utility buttons require a one-time $19 premium add-on.
-
Will this slow down my site?
-
No. The free plugin loads zero JavaScript and minimal CSS. We use lightweight SVG icons. Only the Copy Link button (premium) adds 347 bytes of JS. No external requests, no performance impact.
-
Is there tracking or data collection?
-
No. Sharelet doesn’t collect any data about shares or user behavior. When visitors click share, they go directly to the social platform. Your site and visitor privacy are fully protected.
-
Do I need a subscription?
-
No. The premium add-on is a one-time $19 payment. No renewals, no monthly fees, ever.
-
Yes. Use the shortcode [shrlt] anywhere. To show specific buttons: [shrlt networks=”facebook, twitter, pinterest, bluesky, threads, whatsapp, mastodon, telegram, reddit”]
-
Use the “Enable share buttons” toggle at the top of Settings Sharelet Social Share. Turn it off to hide all buttons site-wide, or turn it back on to restore them. Your button selections are preserved when you toggle.
-
4-5 is the sweet spot. More than that and they start wrapping to a second row. Stick to the buttons your audience actually uses.
-
Does this work with custom post types or WooCommerce products?
-
Automatic button placement supports Posts and Pages only. Sharelet is built for blogs, not WooCommerce or other custom post types. You can still add buttons anywhere, including custom post types, with the [shrlt] shortcode.
-
All social network buttons are always free. The premium add-on adds Copy Link, Email, Ask ChatGPT, and Ask Perplexity utility buttons for additional sharing options. Includes all future utility button updates. No subscription, no renewals.
