MysteryThemes Toolkit is a companion plugin for MysteryThemes WordPress themes that extends the block editor with reusable Gutenberg blocks and common theme features. It provides blocks such as Post Meta, Content Info, and Post Navigation to help you create and customize content layouts directly in the WordPress block editor. The plugin is designed to work seamlessly with supported MysteryThemes themes while keeping common block functionality separate, reusable, and theme-independent.
Version 1.1.0 includes 11 Gutenberg blocks across two categories:
Core Toolkit Blocks:
- MT: Post Meta: Configurable post metadata display supporting author, date, modified date, categories, comments, item ordering, separator styles, and icons.
- MT: Content Info: Clean post statistics block presenting estimated reading time, total word count, publication date, updated date, and author.
- MT: Post Navigation: Responsive previous/next post links featuring titles, thumbnails, dates, categories, grid/stack layouts, and custom typography controls.
News Portal Theme Free Blocks:
- NP: Ads Banner: Displays advertisement banner images with link and rel/target options.
- NP: Block Posts: Category post grids in 4 customizable layout styles (Default, Two Big Posts, Grid Box, Alternate Grid).
- NP: Carousel: Responsive post carousel slider with category filters and navigation controls.
- NP: Featured Posts: Grid display of featured posts by category.
- NP: Featured Slider: Full slider layout with adjacent featured post cards.
- NP: Recent Posts: Clean sidebar and widget-ready recent posts list with thumbnails.
- NP: Social Media: Social profile icon links configured via the theme Customizer.
- NP: Default Tabbed: Interactive tabbed section displaying latest posts and recent comments.

Usage
- Open any post or page in the Gutenberg Block Editor.
- Click the block inserter (

- NP: Default Tabbed Displays latest posts and comments in a tabbed layout.
- NP: Featured Posts Displays featured posts from selected categories.
- NP: Block Posts Displays block posts from selected category in 4 different layouts.
- NP: Recent Posts Displays recent posts with thumbnail.
- NP: Featured Slider Displays posts from selected categories in a slider with adjacent featured posts.
- NP: Carousel Displays posts from selected categories in a responsive carousel.
- NP: Social Media Displays social media icons configured in the Customizer.

Installation
- Upload the
mysterythemes-toolkitfolder to your/wp-content/plugins/directory. - Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
- Open the Block Editor (Gutenberg) and find the MysteryThemes Toolkit and News Portal Blocks categories.
