Description
Add the [landscaping_calculator] shortcode to a post or page. Visitors can build one landscaping project from multiple separate areas. Each area can be a rectangle or circle with its own depth, while the selected material and extra-material allowance apply to the entire project.
YardMetrik presents shared project details, distinct project-area cards, and a clear results summary. It totals all project square footage and aggregates the individual area volumes, then shows the calculated amount, extra material allowance, and a recommended order amount rounded up to the next quarter cubic yard. Site administrators can optionally set a USD price per cubic yard for each material at Settings > YardMetrik – Landscaping Material Calculator. The settings page includes clear material-price guidance and shortcode usage instructions. When a valid USD price is configured, the calculator also shows an estimated material cost.

Installation
- Upload the
yardmetrik-landscaping-material-calculatorfolder to/wp-content/plugins/, or install it through the WordPress Plugins screen. - Activate the plugin through the Plugins screen in WordPress.
- Optionally configure material pricing at Settings > YardMetrik – Landscaping Material Calculator.
- Add
[landscaping_calculator]to a post or page.

What shapes and units does the calculator support?

Rectangles use length and width in feet. Circles use diameter in feet. Each area has its own depth measured in inches. Results are displayed in cubic yards.

How is the recommended amount to order calculated?

The calculator adds the selected extra-material percentage and rounds the result up to the nearest 0.25 cubic yard.

Are prices required?

No. Prices are optional and entered in USD; an estimated cost is shown only for materials with a valid configured price.
