Newsletter looked like it could, was a steep learning curve for the admins but in the end it does do what you need. I think the menus just take getting used to. Mailchimp is way worse. Once you find the right process to get what you need, you kind of remember it. I tried several other newsletter plugins and I found them all wanting. Only the Newsletter plugin actually delivered. With the add ons too, only this plugin makes any sense. We use archive, form designer and WP integration. The other plugins also ask for premium to be functional far too soon. The website that we use it on is a charity and we do subscribe to premium sometimes but there is a limit to how many plugins that is sensible for. The unlimited subscribers feature is important, the problem is, so many people subscribe to the free newsletter that Mailchimp became stupidly expensive for emailing a lot of people that we weren't even sure wanted the mailing anymore. It became a huge cost burden for the club. There isn't really a perfect solution but Newsletter is close to perfect.
